Immigration Procedure
Because of global epidemics such as COVID-19 and Monkeypox virus, immigration procedures and quarantine guidelines are being frequently changed. We will refer you to relevant institution sites to reduce confusion about immigration information that is being constantly updated. We ask all overseas forum participants to check the link below before entering Korea and prepare all relevant entrance documents on your own responsibility.

K-ETA eligible nationals, who wish to enter visa-free the Republic of Korea, must obtain K-ETA approval before boarding the flight or ship. Please keep in mind that the assessment can take more than 72 hours depending of the situation Therefore, please apply for K-ETA with sufficient time. for more detailed information, please check the link below.

Venue

All sessions except for the opening ceremony will take place on the second and third floors at the Kimdaejung Convention Center (KDJ Center).
We will provide a visual guide for participants by designating different colors for each session rooms.

Human Rights Tour will offer a chance to travel back to May 1980,
a critical juncture of the Korean modern history in which people fought and struggled for realizing democracy.
Part 1 will provide participants with a chance to look around historical sites of 5‧18 Democratization Movement while listening to stories back then and to take a moment for commemorating victims as well.
Part 2 will allow participants to look around the 5‧18 Freedom Park and to meet and talk with survivals and victims’ families.

UNESCO Tour will introduce attractive travelers’ destinations in Gwangju Metropolitan City acknowledged by the UNESCO with their historic and cultural values.

Human Rights Policy Tour
Human Rights Policy Tour will provide participants with a chance to learn about Gwangju City’s policies related to climate environment while walking through Gwangju Pureungil Park, ICLEI KO CS No. 14.

Culture and Art Tour will provide a time to learn tea ceremony etiquette wearing the Korean traditional costume at Gwangju Hyanggyo, which has a history of more than 500 years.

Asia Culture Center Tour
The Asia Culture Center provides exhibitions of “The Great Chronicle with Earth” on climate crisis and the exhibition titled “Bitter and Sweet” with the keywords of human dignity and Asia. Also, the center offers night exhibitions as well. Please note that only a one-way bus bound to the center will be provided for this tour program.

Application

Target : Everyone participating in the 12th World Human Rights Cities Forum (except for Human Rights Tour 1)

Capacity : 40 persons for each tour program

Application period : October 10th – 12th, 2022 / closing 30 minutes before the departure time

How to apply : On-site registration at the Tour Desk

* If there are less than five applicants, the tour program may be canceled. The cancellation would be notified 30 minutes prior to the departure time.
* Participants who wish to cancel, are required to notify a person-in-charge at the Tour Desk at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time.
